Free math practice for Kindergarten through 7th grade

Math Adventure is a free math game that runs in any web browser. Kids pick their grade, answer questions made for that grade, earn stars, collect Math Pals and battle a friendly boss. It works on iPads, Chromebooks, phones and laptops. There is nothing to install, no account to create, and no ads.

How it helps kids learn

  • Questions match the grade. Each grade has six or seven skills, taught in the order most classrooms use.
  • It gets harder as kids improve. Every skill has a star meter that fills as answers get more accurate. Stars a child earns are never taken away.
  • Mistakes teach. A first miss gives a hint and a second try. A second miss shows the answer with the steps, and the skill comes back later for another go.
  • Read aloud in English or Spanish. Every question and hint can be spoken, which helps early readers.
  • Short rounds. A round is about ten questions, and the game suggests a break after 20 minutes of play.

Four ways to play

  • Practice: ten questions chosen for your child, with hints.
  • Boss Battle: every right answer is a hit. Quick answers and harder questions hit harder, three in a row make a Super hit, and a boss left waiting a long time slowly gets a little energy back. Speed never changes the stars a child earns. The timing is off for Kindergarten and 1st grade, and can be turned on or off for everyone in Settings. Each grade has its own boss.
  • Speed Round: sixty seconds of quick facts. Five in a row adds bonus time. Try to beat your best.
  • Mystery Number: find the missing number, the first step toward algebra.

Questions parents and teachers ask

Is Math Adventure free?
Yes. Every grade and every game mode is free. There are no ads and nothing to buy.
Does it collect information about my child?
No. There is no sign-up and no tracking. Progress is saved only in the browser on the device being used. A player name is optional and never leaves the device.
What devices does it work on?
Any modern browser on an iPad, Chromebook, phone, tablet or computer. It is built for touch and also works with a mouse and keyboard.
Can more than one child use it on the same device?
Yes. Add up to four players. Each player keeps separate stars, Pals and skill progress.
How do I know the math is right?
Every problem type is checked by an automated test that solves the question independently and compares answers. More than 600,000 generated problems were checked this way before release.
Is it available in Spanish?
Yes. Tap the language button to switch every screen, hint and spoken question to Spanish.
How long should my child play?
Ten to twenty minutes a day works well for most kids. Short, regular practice builds fluency better than long sessions. The game suggests a break after 20 minutes, and you can change that in Settings.
